6 Kinds of Annoying Divers
Diving is a hobby best enjoyed when shared.
Often, you encounter and join dive groups to make the experience worthwhile. However just like in any group sport, there are different kinds of personalities you come across with.
Here are six kinds of annoying divers we could definitely do without. Are you one of them?
The tardy
Boat schedules should always be followed to the dot. The last thing you want is arriving late and getting tested for your rented equipment while everyone waits for you. Don’t be tardy. If the boat leaves at 8:00 in the morning, be there at least half an hour before.
The hoover
We all breathe different underwater. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t improve your chances at breathing better. Keep it mind that you wouldn’t want to be the first diver up on the surface. Practice long and calm breaths before going underwater.
The gadget geek
If you have so much to bring under the sea, your dive becomes a lot more troublesome than it is enjoyable. Trim your equipment down to the essentials. If you don’t need it, don’t bring it.
The overzealous
We won’t deny it. The sea is an impeccable beauty that leaves everyone in awe. However, being overly excited and swimming too far and fast too soon isn’t the best thing to do. It’s always better to move more calmly and appreciate the beauty around you.
The boat hog
Sometimes, there are divers who like to make a mess when in the boat. They keep their gear lying around that they end up consuming too much space. Don’t be a boat hog. Be sensitive to the people you’re about to dive with. It’s just common courtesy.
The photobomber
When you see someone taking a photo of something under the sea, don’t just approach the person all of a sudden. You may end up ruining their shot by scaring that sea creature this person is working so hard to photograph.
